Colonialism & Indigenous Groups

“Colonialism & Indigenous Groups” provides an in-depth look at the life of indigenous groups in Thailand and the Philippines before, during and after colonisation. The project highlights the deep and long-lasting impacts of colonialism on these communities by exploring the various challenges that these indigenous groups faced from the past to the present, which were often a result of oppressive policies. The discrimination faced during colonialism continued after independence; the perpetrator merely changed to the ruling government. How then, can indigenous groups protect their unique identity, even as they continue to grapple with the legacy of colonialism?
